According to their Myspace page, “Nortec Collective emerged from the burgeoning Tijuana electronic scene, performing a style of music that they invented called Nortec - a fusion of Norteño (”from the North”) and Techno, documenting the collision between the style and culture of electronica music, characterized by hard dance beats, and samples from traditional forms of Mexican music.”

If you want to know the names and artists some good old house toons back when house toons were actually good, major, danceable and fun (like back before crystal killed everyone’s vibe) check out the phearceness here. This site brought me back to all those saturday nights when I danced until i couldn’t stand any more, kissed who knows how many boys, wore no shirt, and stumbled home and slept for 18 hours. Ahh the days.
