Here We Go Magic

Yes, the bandwagon has already departed Brooklyn full-steam ahead to a mystical place in the cosmos with the brilliant Here We Go Magic at its helm, (tardy me again! It’s just that dang full-time job thing and all… oh ok fine, ‘excuses, excuses…’) but it’s never too late to hop onboard for a trip this aurally blissful, right?

The recently, and beautifully Web 2.5ishly so, — if slightly disorienting to longtime visitors — redesigned Pitchfork has a nice vid up of “Tunnelvision” for your kick-back-with-the-Mac-at-full-screen-and-a-post-work-Tecaté-(or-two)-enjoyment.

I’m even more a fan of the track “Fangela” which you can listen to at latest social-network darling du jour lala.com. If only all music could be so simultaneously ecstatic and soothing… Hmm, then where would they file BrokeNSYDE?

Marnie Stern This Is It and I Am It and You Are It and So Is That and He Is It and She Is It and It Is It and That Is That Ms Stern may have fallen a bit short of the world record for longest album title but it’s probably no contest that This Is It and I Am It and You Are It and So Is That and He Is It and She Is It and It Is It and That Is That will be in way heavier rotation on the trusty KLH here than Fiona’s goodbutnotquitegreat When The Pawn… LP ever was.

Before losing a few percent of hearing capacity at Knitting Factory last year with Safetybear, the vibrational match that is In Advance of the Broken Arm had been magically melting my speakers for about 6 months straight. Can not wait for UPS to show up with 180 grams of vinyly-goodness sequel.

Nortec Collective

According to their Myspace page, “Nortec Collective emerged from the burgeoning Tijuana electronic scene, performing a style of music that they invented called Nortec - a fusion of Norteño (”from the North”) and Techno, documenting the collision between the style and culture of electronica music, characterized by hard dance beats, and samples from traditional forms of Mexican music.”

Six Post-1970s Eno Vocal Treatments

“And Then So Clear” (from the 2005 album Another Day On Earth) very well may be my favorite thing he’s ever done. In the video below, Eno discusses the process he used to distort his voice for this and other tracks on that album.

Is it just this spring weather messing with my head or has M83 figured out what happened with Duckie and Andie that summer after the prom…?

You couldn’t buy her, though, that’s what’s killing you, isn’t it? Stef?
